Meet Our Team The Accounting Doctor, Accounting

Adam B. Remis, CPA, CISA, MSIM

Mr Remis is Co-Founder of The Accounting Doctor, and oversees our Operations and Tax Research teams.  He has been a CPA for over 25 years, and has a particular expertise in building tax plans that minimize the amount of taxes each of his clients pay to IRS and their respective States.

Prior to co-founding The Accounting Doctor over 2 years ago, Mr. Remis worked as a CFO for both public and privately held companies.  Prior to 2010, Mr. Remis’s professional background as a CPA included tax and financial audits of a variety of businesses ranging from small family owned to global Fortune 500 companies. 

In 2017, Mr. Remis won Chief Financial Officer of the Year in the Public Company category from the Financial Executives International Arizona Chapter for his work at InnSuites Hospitality Trust (NYSE Mkt: IHT).  From 2019-2021, Mr. Remis served as President of the Arizona Chapter of the Financial Executives International Group.

Javier Melendez

Javier Melendez is Co-Founder of The Accounting Doctor, and oversees our Sales and Client Support teams.

Mr. Melendez has worked with hundreds of small business owners throughout the United States determine whether their business qualifies for Employee Retention Tax Credits.  He has a deep understanding of the ERTC code and specializes in understanding each company’s business profile to determine how best apply for ERTC. 

Mr. Melendez is a Licensed Life insurance agent and has a broad history in Management, Finance, Life Insurance, and Tax Compliance. He takes pride in customer service, ensuring questions are answered, and your expectations are exceeded. Mr. Melendez lives in the Northern California area and is ready to assist you.

Cory McClure MBA, ASBC

Cory McClure MBA, ASBC

Cory McClure is an Accredited Small Business Consultant (ASBC) and financial manager with over 25 years of accounting management experience. Mr. McClure continues to help growing businesses improve their accounting and financial management processes. In addition, he has worked with numerous small and medium size companies to improve internal communications and role expectations by creating SOPs to standardize accounting, improve workflows, and establish meaningful reporting processes for management, resulting in effective work environments and maximized performance. He also applies his extensive experience to provide project management and strategic planning for his clients. When Cory is not in the office you can find him on the golf course enjoying the many courses around central and southern Arizona. He is married and the father of 3 children.

With 8 years of experience as a skilled salesman he brings a unique blend of expertise to the table. Mr. Garcia takes pride in his ability to effectively communicate complex concepts, fostering client trust and loyalty. He thrives in fast-paced and challenging environments, consistently providing a superior experience for his clients. Mr. Garcia is currently leading our Spanish speaking team, and ready to assist clients.

Jonathan Sandoval

Jonathan Sandoval

Jonathan Sandoval has worked in sales for over 15 years providing various services and products to both consumers and businesses.  Mr. Sandoval has a passion for assisting his clients in obtaining the the highest value in goods or services for their money. Mr. Sandoval has extensive outside sales experience primarily from his work efforts at ADT Alarm Systems. 

At ADT Alarm Systems, Mr. Sandoval started his employment as a Sales Representative and thru several high profile promotions and sales awards, he reached a milestone of Regional Manager over multiple stores and teams of sales people.  This experience has been instrumental in his success at The Accounting Doctor.  Mr. Sandoval lives in Tracy, California and in his free time enjoys attending sporting events and spending time with his close friends and family.

Kerry HernandezKerry Hernandez

Ms. Hernandez is our Client Relations Support Administrator and Office Manager. An experienced Project Manager, Ms. Hernandez leads our Processing Team utilizing her expertise in organization and customer service. She works closely with the leadership team, to ensure projects are delivered successfully, and that our clients are receiving top notch service. In her free time, Ms. Hernandez enjoys playing soccer with her family, remodeling her home, and visiting the beach.

KimKimberly Peterson

Ms. Peterson has over 10 years of sales and marketing experience in the legal industry. Utilizing her extensive network, she was able to build, extend and leverage her connections in the California marketplace to become the # 1 sales associate two years in a row. Ms. Peterson lives in Livermore, California and is extremely active in business associations including the Chamber of Commerce and the Young Pleasanton Professional organization. In her free time, Ms. Peterson enjoys seeing her friends and being with her local family.

Krista McDonald

Ms. McDonald is a member of our client relations and processing team.  She has 6 years of customer service experience, and uses her expertise to help our clients get through the ERTC filing process as quickly as possible. She is also responsible for assisting the leadership team with organizing and maintaining data requests.  In her free time, Ms. McDonald enjoys horseback riding and reading, while also working on her Bachelor's Degree in accounting.

ZacheryZachery Ivey

Mr. Zachery Ivey has nearly 20 years of inside and outside sales experience. Mr. Ivey loves interacting with his clients to help them achieve their financial goals. Specifically, Mr. Ivey has been working with TheAccountingDoctor for nearly 2 years once the Employee Retention Tax Credits started. He along with both of our Co-Founders realized that small businesses will need specific technical expertise and guidance to work with Internal Revenue Service to obtain their Employee Retention Tax refunds.

Mr. Ivey used to work for Allstate Insurance as a Sales Producer and found incredible success helping his small business clients providing general liability, life insurance, disability insurance, workers compensation and directors/officers policies. In addition, he provided home and auto insurance to his individual clients. Mr. Ivey obtained a record sales accomplishment by holding the “Shark of the Week” award for most policies sold in the week for a consecutive 13 weeks.

When Mr. Ivey is not working, he and his girlfriend have a combined four children ranging in age from 6 months to 17 years old. They live in Houston, Texas and Mr. Ivey enjoys golfing and sporting events in his free time.
